Kokomo Mayor Meets with Blueblacks Staff as City and Team Establish New Partnership

Meeting marks an important step forward in strengthening the relationship between the Kokomo Blueblacks and the City of Kokomo

KOKOMO, IN — The Kokomo Blueblacks are excited to announce another major step forward for the organization following a productive meeting between members of the Blueblacks staff and Kokomo Mayor Tyler Moore, resulting in the establishment of a new partnership between the organization and the City of Kokomo.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss the future of Blueblacks Football, community involvement, economic development, sports tourism, youth engagement, and ways the organization and City can work together to create a positive impact throughout Kokomo.

More importantly, the conversation further strengthened what has quickly developed into a strong relationship between the Blueblacks and City leadership.

A Partnership Built Around Kokomo

From the beginning, the Blueblacks have made it clear that the organization's vision extends beyond what happens on the football field.

The Kokomo Blueblacks want to become a long-term sports and entertainment asset for the city while helping generate excitement, community engagement and additional opportunities for Kokomo residents and businesses.

The newly established partnership creates an opportunity for the Blueblacks and the City to work together on initiatives that can benefit the greater Kokomo community.

Areas of collaboration are expected to include community engagement, youth initiatives, city events, sports and entertainment, promotion of Kokomo, and opportunities to strengthen the connection between the Blueblacks organization and the community it represents.

More Than Football

The Blueblacks believe professional-minded sports organizations should contribute to the cities whose names they carry.

Through Kokomo Blueblacks Football LLC, the organization is building the football, entertainment and business side of the franchise, while the Blueblacks Community Foundation serves as the organization's nonprofit platform for charitable programs, youth initiatives and community outreach.

Together, the two organizations provide the Blueblacks with an opportunity to make an impact both on and off the field.

The relationship with the City represents another important piece of that long-term vision.

Building Something Together

For the Blueblacks, this partnership is about much more than the 2027 season.

It is about establishing roots.

It is about creating relationships with local government, businesses, families and community organizations.

And it is about ensuring that as the Blueblacks grow, Kokomo grows alongside them.
